Sport Climbing Victoria represents the Victorian chapter of Sport Climbing Australia. With many years experience between us our board members aim to develop and foster climbing within Victoria.
The boulder season continued over the weekend, this time with our very own state titles. It was gratifying to see so many Victorians make their way to Geelong to compete.
We had 101 competitors competing across all categories. The Junior and Youth categories started the show in the morning and the day finished with Open A Finals.
Change our Game Workforce Development Program Funding
We are pleased to announce we have been successful in our grant application receiving funding from the Victorian Government as part of the ‘Change our Game Workforce Development Program’ to further develop our coaching expertise within Victoria with a particular focus on increasing female coaching roles.
WA State Boulder Titles and Bayside Black Knight – Results
From 21 – 22 July, 2018 the WA State Boulder Titles were held marking the start of the 2018 Boulder Season. The qualification rounds were held on Saturday followed by finals on Sunday.
Back here in Melbourne Bayside Rock held their Black Knight annual event, utilising black lights to create a glow-in-the-dark experience.
Pierre de Coubertin Award 2018 – Luke Humphreys
On Friday June 22, 2018 the Victorian Olympic Committee (VOC) held their annual Olympic Academy where the Pierre de Coubertin Award is presented to representatives from an array of disciplines.
This year the Sport Climbing recipient was Luke Humphreys.
