Ellen White-MackenzieChair

Ellen has been involved with SCV since 2015. Ellen’s main interest areas are youth development and supporting other under represented groups within our climbing community.
Hearing from the community that a state youth team was needed Ellen initiated Youth Competition Climbing Victoria (YCCV), which has been very successful. Ellen has also been involved in formulating the SCV child safety policy and continues to develop further policies for SCV.  If you see Ellen around and want to discuss anything SCV and/or sport climbing related, please feel free to come and chat.

Lulu is a strong advocate for inclusion and celebrating diversity, she believes that the future holds a climbing community that works together to learn and teach one another to create a safe and welcoming space for all.
Lulu has been apart of the Victorian climbing community for over 10 years and has seen herself move from working in retail to the climbing industry with ease. With 10 years working in customer experience management and leadership, Lulu hopes to give all she has to Sport Climbing Victoria and it’s community.
Lulu is found laughing on the climbing mats after trying hard with her family of climbers or having an oat flat white while talking someone’s ear off.  (
Jose Paniaguase

My name is Jose and I have been climbing for the last 5 years. During the years I’ve also spent time in the outdoors going on hikes, camping and recently, travelling around the east coast while sport  climbing. I moved to Melbourne in 2020 where I’ve met amazing people who are passionate about climbing and in the creation of safe spaces for every person. My passion for climbing and getting people together gave me the idea of volunteering at SCV to help create accessible events where people can come together and develop their climbing skills.
Yvette Harrison – Secretary
Yvette is a founding member of SCV and is in her 5th term as a Sport Climbing Victoria board member. Yvette loves the growth of SCV over the years and is proud of our achievements and future ventures to come.  Having attended many local, national and international events over the years as a supporter, parent and Australian Team Manager, Yvette understands the need for our athletes to have recognition and support, starting at a state level.
Yvette is looking forward to making further development for Victoria’s members.
Alexander Cox Taylor
Alex has 20 years of experience in business and sports management, 15 years experience as a company director and 13 years experience in the Australian climbing industry. Alex has attended and presented at international climbing industry events including the World Indoor Climbing Summit and CWA. Alex is passionate about the development of climbing from grass roots through to elite level.
Araminta (Minty) McLennan
Sarah Davis
Sarah Davis
Sarah has been climbing for 19 years, enjoying both outdoors and competition
climbing. Sarah competed in her first national level competition at 12 years old, and has since competed in many state, national and international competitions including 4 World Youth Championships, and winning the Open A National Boulder Titles in2018.
Sarah holds a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science, and Master of Clinical
Exercise Physiology, and has enjoyed many years of applying this knowledge to
coaching both youth and adult athletes. Sarah currently works as an Exercise
Physiologist in neurological rehabilitation, and looks forward to using her knowledge
as both an athlete and exercise professional to further develop the sport and climbing scene in Victoria.
Lauren Marc
Lauren began climbing after getting a job in a climbing gym, knowing very little about the sport, but quickly found a deep appreciation for the welcoming and supportive local community of her gym. Lauren now works primarily as a route setter in both rope and boulder gyms in Melbourne and is passionate about facilitating engaging and emotive movement through route setting. She is excited to join the board and hopes to assist in facilitating greater accessibility in Victorian climbing. Outside of climbing, Lauren is passionate about ecological conservation and is currently completing a Masters in Urban Horticulture.

Phillip Witwoski

Philip started climbing in 2018 and since then fell in love with the sport and its community and never looked back. An avid boulderer primarily, he also dabbles in rope-climbing and the outdoors when time permits. Aside from climbing, he has worked in the data analytics space for over 10 years, primarily in the government sector. Philip’s main goals for SCV are to help current and future climbers get into the sport and love it as much as he does. This means making the sport as inclusive and open to people of different backgrounds as possible, from people climbing their first session to our elite athletes including paraclimbers, open and youth athletes.
