The biggest event on the Australian calendar was held earlier this month from 7 – 10 November, 2019. Athletes from across Australia flocked to NSW to determine the 2019 National Champions in all three disciplines: Lead, Speed and Boulder.
This year had the added pressure of being a qualification event to the 2020 Oceania Titles which will be held from 28 – 29 March, 2020. The Oceania Titles are then the qualification event for this regions Olympic spot for Tokyo 2020 where one female and one male will be selected to compete.
Victoria sent a strong team of 6 athletes with 4 of these competing in the combined event required to qualify for the Oceania Titles. We are very pleased to announce that all 4 athletes finished in the top 8 combined results and therefore automatically qualify for the Oceania Titles.
Congratulations to Grace Crowley, James Kassay, Oceana Mackenzie and Ned Middlehurst!
All athletes produced amazing results and a special mention to Oceana Mackenzie who is the National Champion in all three disciplines!
