Thank you for attending the, “Coaching for Climbing Workshop”
On Saturday 2nd May, Sport Climbing Victoria hosted a free online “Coaching for Climbing Workshop”. Aimed at equipping Victoria’s youth climbing coaching workforce with information and skills, the workshop covered a wide range of topics from an experienced panel of presenters. Topics included: Child Safety, Getting Smart About Competition, Competition Day Support, Competition Simulations, Physiology, Youth Coaching and Mental Health. Presented by some of Victoria & Australia’s most qualified individuals, including National Head Coaches, National Team Physio, Jury President, SCV President, Victorian Climbing Child Safety Rep and a Neuropsychologist.
The workshop saw over 120 registrations, including many interstate viewers and a few international viewers – shout out to the Canadian Youth Coaching Team who joined us at what would have been a very late viewing time for them!
The session was followed by a live Q&A with all presenters, where many fantastic questions were addressed by the panel, and great feedback was received. The workshop has been recorded and will be made available online for those who registered but could not attend live, and for all SCA/SCV members.
What’s next? In the future, we hope to be able to bring a more in-depth workshop to the climbing community, in person. We also aim to be able to present some info sessions for individual topics of interest, including some that we were unable to cover on this occasion. Stay tuned for more!
